When the Covid-19 epidemic gradually stabilizes, in the near future, theaters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will have a simultaneous operation to restart artistic activities after a period of pause due to the epidemic. In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism supports funding for brightly lit theaters, hoping that 12 theaters will pioneer performing high-quality art programs, creating a driving force to promote the working atmosphere of the cultural industry, art all over the country.
In this series of important activities, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater will participate with the performance "The fate of Kieu". Based on the classic work “The fate of Kieu” by the great poet Nguyen Du, the show has been transformed into a puppet theater full of breakthrough, creativity and experimentation under the talented directing by director People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung. The performance reappeared, depicting each main character's personality differently, artized in puppet language, making the characters in poetry closer and sharper on stage. All details and scenes in the show are handled by pieces, attractive puppet shows, space, abstract light, fanciful combined with traditional music mixed with contemporary, will make the audience impress and unforgettable experiences and emotions. The show won the Gold Award at the International Experiment Theater Festival in Hanoi, 2019.
The show "The fate of Kieu" will be held at the Hanoi Opera House at 8:00 p.m. on June 18 and June 19, 2020.
