The 5th International Marionnete Festival - 2018 has officially opened at 8pm on October 8th 2018 at Au Co Performing Arts Center - Hanoi.
The festival hosted by the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City, Vietnam Stage Artists Association, Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh Province, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc Province ... With the desire of promoting the cooperation in the field of puppet culture and culture between Vietnam and other countries in the world. The Festival will take place from October 8th to 15th at 4 locations in Hanoi including: Au Co Performing Arts Center, Vietnam National Puppetry Theater, Thang Long Puppet Theater, Sports Hall Mai Dich industrial park.
The festival is a practical activity, contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship in the field of culture and arts between Vietnam and other countries in the world. This festival brings together 7 troupes from Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, Wallonie Bruxelles (Kingdom of Belgium), France, Brazil and 4 professional puppet art theaters of Vietnam: Vietnam National Puppetry Theater, Thang Long Puppet Theater, Hai Phong Puppet Art Group, Ho Chi Minh Puppet Theater participate in the competition.
This is considered an opportunity for Vietnamese host artists to introduce the unique art of Vietnam to international friends. Simultaneously, the Festival is also an opportunity for Vietnamese art managers and puppet artists to interact and learn the quintessence of the puppet art of humankind, exchange and share valuable experiences in the process of artistic creation. Since then, there have been innovations in the methods of organizing, managing and creating works of high quality and to meet the people's artistic enjoyment needs.
The delegation will compete in many forms such as water puppet, rod puppet, hand puppet, black-theater puppet, shadow puppet, mask puppet ... with a limited time from 30 to 40 minutes / repertoire. Organizing Committee of the Festival will award Gold and Silver for high-quality performances according to the evaluation of the Art Council based on a high to low score. The total number of awards for the program or repertoire does not exceed 35% of the total number of programs, repertoire attending the Festival and the total number of Gold awards for the program, repertoire does not exceed 35% of the total number of programs solution. In addition, the Organizing Committee will also offer a number of extra prizes to artists, groups of artists with many unique and creative discoveries.
At this festival, the organizers will select a number of special performances and programs of participating countries to perform to serve the people in Vinh Phuc and Ninh Binh to serve audience. Vietnamese and international artists will be able to exchange indigenous culture on a field trip in Tay Thien - Vinh Phuc, learn about spiritual culture, Vietnamese Mothers and Trang An - Ninh Binh scenic spots to explore the history of kings in Hoa Lu ancient capital ...
The Organizing Committee establishes an environment for cultural exchange, learning, exchanging experiences, cross-cultural exchanges between domestic and international art units; organize seminars for artists to introduce the specialties in their puppet art, promote the creation of new works of dance and create the premise for new repertoires and performances.
