The show "Blond Princess" is a unique and interesting story about chef Irerka's adventurous journey to find the blonde princess. With love and kindness, the chef has overcome all trials and evil to have eternal love with his blonde princess. A simple story but under the talented hands of the director, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung, puppet-builder People's Artist Vuong Tat Loi, art designer Ngo Thang and talented acting ability of the puppet artist, the play has portrayed each character clearly, with a humorous appeal. The puppets are animated and beautifully shaped. And especially the colorful play scene combined with diverse space, light, and music brings viewers into a magical fairy world with wonderful experiences and emotions.
Meritorious Artist Le Khanh Toan (Department of Performing Arts) shared: The Blonde Princess is a state-sponsored work ordered by the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater. I am always surprised by the creative treatment of director, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung. In each show, the director always finds a key, a way of performing puppetry and rarely duplicates. The Blonde Princess can be considered a classic work of Vietnamese puppetry when choreographing foreign literary scripts. The characters of the king, princess ... are already very familiar with Vietnamese children, so they will be more receptive and closer to the work. I firmly believe that the child audience will be extremely interested in this work, especially when the artists act to further promote the interaction and interaction between the artist and the character with the viewer".
Director, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Vietnam Natioanl Puppetry Theater said: “The Blonde Princess is a work that is considered a classic of the Vietnamese puppet industry. We reconstructed this work because it is very suitable for the puppet stage as well as the audience for children. In addition to performing for the children's audience, the theater artists will have the opportunity to have access to the work to improve their acting skills. The show requires actors to show all the performing skills of the stage artist, not just puppet performance techniques ”.
Watching the new version of “Golden Princess” of Vietnam National Puppetry Theater will see a creative team that has renewed from dialogue language, story details to the use of a variety of puppets such as mask puppetry, stick puppetry... In particular, some forms of performance from the water puppet stage have also been cleverly applied to this work, such as using a pole to perform a water puppet on a stage puppet, replacing the water with the floor and decorative treatments, lighting has brought high efficiency. The stage of the show is very eye-catching so that the audience can take photos after watching the performance. The form of theatrical performance is also suitable for serving street performance, convenient for moving, making stage in many locations. Thanks to the government's order, artists have more opportunities to create works that suit the tastes of the audience. Certainly, the Blonde Princess will be a meaningful spiritual gift that the puppeteers give to the child audience on Christmas 2019 as well as the upcoming holidays.
