VHO-Under the direction of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to deploy a series of quality performances staged by theaters and art units of the Ministry to attract the audience back to the stage after a period of Art activities’ postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic, on the evening of June 18 at the Hanoi Opera House.
Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien presented flowers to People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Vietnam Puppet Theater, director of the puppet show “The fate of Kieu” after the show.

The fate of Kieu (author Meritorious Artist Le Chuc and writer Nguyen Hieu; directed by director, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung) was adapted from the classic work The Story of Kieu by the great poet Nguyen Du. The show won many high awards at the 2019 International Experimental Theater Festival such as the Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance, Outstanding Directing Award, Outstanding Visual Artist Award, 2 Gold Medals for Outstanding Actor, 5 Silver Medals for the actors in the play. The success of the puppet show "The fate of Kieu" has opened up a new approach to the puppet theater, creating a breakthrough in creativity.

Talking with the artists after the show, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien highly appreciated the content and art value of the puppet show “The fate of Kieu”. “I am very pleased to see the work The fate of Kieu. The work has taken a sufficient amount of time to ensure all the ideological values and contents of the Fate of Kieu through the language of a unique art form such as puppetry. The Story of Kieu going on to the puppet stage has brought a very special charm. The puppet language has created great viewing art spaces. Behind the puppets is the ability to act and manipulate puppets to a skilled level. Certainly good and unique works such as The Fate of Kieu will satisfy many audiences of all audiences, including domestic and international audiences", said Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien.
