(The Fatherland) - As part of a series of activities celebrating the 255th birthday and the 200th anniversary of the death of the national poet Nguyen Du, at 20:00 on October 18th , 19th and 20th, 2020, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater continues performing the show "The fate of Kieu" at the Hong Ha Cinema.
The show is considered a theatrical phenomenon in 2019 - 2020, has won many awards and gold and silver medals at the International Experimental Theater Festival at the end of 2019. This is also an elaborate and monumental show, the successful performance was sold out at the Opera House at the end of June 2020.
It is known that the show "The fate of Kieu" based on the classic work "Story of Kieu" by the great poet Nguyen Du, was transformed into a puppet theater full of breakthrough, creativity and experimentation under the skillful direction of the director - People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung.

The performance reappeared, portraying each main character differently, artized in puppet language, making the characters in poetry closer and sharper on stage. All details and scenes in the show are handled by pieces, attractive puppet shows, space, abstract light, fanciful combined with traditional music mixed with contemporary, making the audience excited and go from surprise to surprise.
If in other genres, Kiều is built according to the order of literary works of great poet Nguyen Du, in this show, Kieu does not construct in chronological order of "Story of Kieu", but only choose some of the most dramatic changes of Kieu's life, starting from the upheaval when the silk seller falsely accusued to Vuong Ong's family, causing Kieu to sell herself, twice in a brothel, twice as a servant for 15 years. The drama ended when Kieu stepped into the Tien Duong River.
More especially, with traditional puppetry, it will be difficult to attract and convey all the content of the story, it is difficult for the actor to fully portray the unjust and painful mood of Kieu, as well as of the many other characters. However, the confused experimentation - who made it easier for viewers to understand, and easier to focus on with Kieu's fate.
