The Vietnam Puppetry Theater has been performing traditional water puppet for ASEAN children festival 2016 in the series of programs organized by the co-operation among Vietnam Television and Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, ASEAN countries Embassies in Vietnam, Co-operation and Development Fund (CDF) and Eastern Culture Joint-stock Company. The programme with the participation of children from 7 ASEAN countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Laos and Vietnam – the host country.
On 30th May 2016, at 20:00 ASEAN Children Group together with the Organizing Committee and volunteers had come to The Vietnam Puppetry Theatre to enjoy excitedly the Vietnamese traditional water puppet – the unique art in the world. The Children expressed great interest when they were exchanged with artists and their curiosity was satisfied during the part of discovering puppet controlling in the unique environment – water environment.
By exploring the art of water puppet, the children will understand more about Vietnamese culture, history and people. This is also an opportunity for them to exchange and learn about the featured cultures of ASEAN countries as well as express warm welcoming of Vietnam, the host country.
